Hi guys, this is an Instagram post I wrote about learning to embrace change. We often believe that we won’t be happy if we eat differently. And I totally get it, deciding to go against everything we’ve learned can be scary. But what if I told you that changing was actually amazing?
THE SCARIEST PART OF MAKING CHANGES
The scariest part is deciding that the changes are actually AMAZING‼️
Like eating homemade pasta 🍝 at a delish Italian restaurant is amazing. Like ordering dinner with your friends instead of saying “I already ate” because you don’t want to eat THAT (🙄) food is amazing. Like saying that you appreciate your body instead of hating on it in front of the mirror is amazing.
WHY IS IT SCARY TO CHANGE?
So why is that so scary?
Answer 👉🏼Because we don’t want to believe that we can be happy if we DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN X, Y, Z 😭 (and those things are probably what we’ve been told will make us happy our entire lives!)
Let’s be clear 🌟 X = eating less food, Y = exercising more, and Z = making your body smaller 😬 and while we’re at it, let’s nip that doubtful voice in the bud: maybe they make SOME people happy, but if you’re reading this and have been struggling with food – those x, y, z, things aren’t going to make YOU happy 👏🏼 You feel me?
That’s why it’s about giving yourself PERMISSION to change. The scariest part is DECIDING that it’s not so bad after all.
TAKEAWAY: IT’S NOT SO SCARY AFTER ALL
The scariest part is saying I love myself enough to change because anything is better than THIS.
The scariest part is saying I will change and FIGURE IT OUT 💯 because this is new and scary and it’s okay to not know how it’s all going to go.
