Hi guys, this is an Instagram post I wrote about my experience with using intuitive eating and food freedom concepts to heal my relationship with food.
I am not here to tell you that food freedom is the absolute best way to heal your relationship with food – but it was the absolute best way for ME to heal my relationship with food ☺️🥰 and that’s the reason why I share it.
If you don’t know already, I tried to go the whole intuitive eating route 🙄 I thought that BECAUSE I could NOT listen to my body (hello chronic dieting and binge eating 👋🏼) that I would have to do the DIRECT OPPOSITE to fix that. A.K.A. I thought learning how to LISTEN to my body using “intuitive eating” would solve all of my problems 🤷♀️ it makes sense, right?
Well, NEWS FLASH: intuitive eating did not work for me 😬 I gave it my best try but I was so super stuck in the diet mentality that it did not work for me, rather, it did not work for me at that time.
THERE IS NO JUDGMENT ABOUT *HOW* YOU CHOOSE TO DO IT ❤️
I only care that you can actually do it.
I want you to know there are SO many options out there, but if you resonate with any of what I’m saying on my little piece of the Instagram universe 🌎😂 then I want to encourage you to try the Food Freedom way.
And there are a few reasons why it works for me: 1️⃣ I made up my own rules 👏🏼 there is no one that told me how I “should” do it 2️⃣ It’s totally about self-awareness without all of the dieting strings attached 3️⃣ It’s about YOU and has no expectations about how you should eat – just that you should be able to eat freely.
Honestly, Food Freedom is probably the scariest way to go about healing your relationship with food because you’re afraid giving up control will be a total disaster. BUT IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE THAT WAY 🙌🏼💯 Food Freedom is about so much more than how you eat – it’s what you’re thinking and feeling + WHY you’re thinking and feeling it.
